MVA teaches the values of effort, selflessness and positive competition through the sport of volleyball. MVA serves young women from the ages of 10 to 18.
MVA offers competitive teams to players that want to excel in the sport of volleyball. MVA forms teams that fit various levels of commitment and competition. Athletes who are placed on a competitive team will train multiple times per week and compete versus teams from other clubs in various tournaments through out the winter and spring seasons. MVA provides three different levels of competitive teams because we understand that everyone needs different time and/or financial commitments (see below). Athletes who wish to participate in the competitive program must attend a tryout for their appropriate age group and will be selected for a team based on their skill performance and athletic potential.
MVA hosts tryouts every year to select new players for our competitive teams.
MVA will host tryouts for its 2021 competitive teams once the MHSA Volleyball season has concluded.
National teams are the highest level of training and competition that MVA offers. National teams will compete in USAV events in pursuit of a bid to the USAV Junior National Championships. National teams are staff ed with a head coach and an assistant and practice three times per week. This program is designed for athletes who wish to play at the highest levels and have goals of competing at the collegiate level. Practices will begin Dec. 1, and all practices will be in Missoula.
Elite teams are designed for advanced skills volleyball players seeking high-level competition. Elite teams will compete in USAV and AAU single and multi-day events in western Montana and the Spokane area. Elite teams are staff ed with one head coach and one assistant and will practice twice per week from January through May and will hold practices in Missoula. Elite teams are offered at all age groups except for U12.
Red teams are a second level of regional-travel that is designed for motivated athletes who desire a less intensive schedule. Practices for Red teams will begin in late February or early March and the season will go through May. MVA Red teams will compete mostly in western Montana but will travel to larger tournaments as well. Red teams practice twice per week and will be staff ed with one head coach. Red teams will be offered at the U12 through U16 age groups.
