With six teams in competition it will be a busy weekend for MVA players and families.
Missoula was chosen as the host site for the 2016 Evergreen Region 18 and Under National Bid Tournament. The tournament will take place at Big Sky High School on Sunday, Mar. 13. The event will host nine teams from Washington, Idaho and Montana. The tournament winner will be accepted to the National Division of Girls Junior National Championships held in Milwaukee, WI., while second place will receive a bid in the GJNC American Division which will take place in Indianapolis, IN. The MVA 18 National team is the top overall seed in the event but they will face tough competition as they attempt to qualify for the National Championships for the fourth time in five years.
The MVA 16 National will travel to Spokane, WA., to play in the ERVA Power League. The team will try an bounce back from a disappointing fifth-place finish at the last Power League event. The 16 National team is currently ranked sixth in the region.
The MVA 16 Elite team will also be in competition as the team travels to Post Falls, ID., to play in the Treaty Rock Classic hosted by Post Falls Volleyball Club. The team will try to build on its championship performance last month at the Montana Winter Classic in Great Falls, MT.
On Saturday, Mar. 12, MVA will host the Missoula Tilt at Big Sky High School. Three MVA 14 and under teams will take the court with the 14 Red and 13 Nate teams playing in their first competition of the year. Tournament play starts at 8:00am.
